goes Gay
"New Hampshire became the sixth state in the nation today to approve gay marriage, after legislation was enacted by both the state House and Senate and then signed by Governor John Lynch."
As New Hampshire becomes the 6th state to legalize same-sex marriage and California still lags behind, let's look at some statistics of who can and cannot get married:
12% of states allow same-sex marriage
Only 5.3% of the U.S. population can get married within their own states.
If CA joined the ranks?
14% of states would allow same-sex marriage
17.4% of the U.S. population can get marriage within their own states
With the largest population, California has the greatest need to be the leader in human rights. But instead we choose to lag behind.
