This just in. With a vote of 3-2 the California Senate Judiciary Committee has passed SR7. This bill will now move onto the next step.
"SR7 says: That the Senate opposes Proposition 8 because it is an improper revision, not an
amendment, of the California Constitution and was not enacted according to the procedures required by Article XVIII of the California Constitution;"
Text source: State Surge
More information as it comes in.
Edit: Just in case people are wondering what the house is doing on this. The house already passed HR5 on February 17th by a vote of 7 for and 3 against. Again from State Surge here is the text for HR5:
"That the Assembly opposes Proposition 8 because it is an improper revision, not an amendment, of the California Constitution and was not enacted according to the procedures required by Article XVIII of the California Constitution;"
They now both go to their prospective areas and will be voted on. Once I get the dates of these votes I will let you know.
