The Armenian 'Anything But Genocide' Genocide Talks

Today is the day Armenians (and many others) throughout the day recognize the Armenian Genocide. April 24, 1915 is the day many believe the genocide began. It was the day when the Ottoman Empire rounded up all the Armenian intellectuals and then 'deported' the rest of the Armenian population out of the Ottoman Empire.  Over 1.5 Million people were killed during this attrocity, and yet there are still many people and organizations that refuse to accept it for what it is (a genocide) and instead call it anything but. Here is a roundup of all the non-genocide talk going across the world as people are too afraid to piss off their ally Turkey.

Guardian Newspaper - England
Written by Armenian, Avet Demourian, The Guardian Newspaper in England is afraid of saying genocide. They call the ethnic cleansing of Armenians as "mass killings", "mass slaughter", and even saying 'Armenian Genocide' (in quotes as if it can be debated).

Barack Obama - President of the U.S.
Barack made a statement today for 'Armenian Rememberance Day'. Although Obama correctly says that Armenians were 'massacred and marched to their death' he refrains from saying the forbidden word 'genocide'. Instead he calls it 'one of the greatest atrocities of the 20th century'. Fun part is he calls the genocide 'Meds Yeghern' which is Armenian for genocide. So he said  the word genocide only to those who could understand him. Sounds like a backhanded slap to me.

Have you seen anyplace else that steps around the word genocide and instead tries to call it something else? Le me know and Ill add it to the list!
