Moving out of California a little to the north is a tiny town called Portland. Located in Oregon, Portland has a population of roughly 576,000. And yesterday it became the largest city to have an openly gay mayor.
Sam Adams, who is obviously openly gay, won the election with 59% of the vote. He was sworn in yesterday at 12:01 AM. shortly after the New Year started. Let's hope he does an amazing job and congratulations to him!
