Local agencies throughout LA are campaigning to encourage gay people to adopt children.

"They provide loving, stable and permanent homes for kids who need them," said Robyn Harrod, Southern California Adoption Agency. "And, it makes absolutely no difference whether they are gay, straight, single, married ... They just need to love kids and want to provide a home for them."

With over 129,000 foster kids in the U.S. it's a wonder that this is just beginning now. California is unfortunatly only one of four states that allow LGBT people to adopt children. Arkansas in the last election just voted into law that gay people can not adopt.

A home, even if not with your biological parents, is still a home nonetheless and is much better than the alternative. "The research shows that a good deal of these kids who emancipate from the system wind up homeless, wind up incarcerated, wind up jobless and they have no family," said Harrod. That is not good for society as a whole.

I can't wait to have/adopt children and create a family.
