Today I present to you The Netherlands.

The Netherlands has been in the song contest since its beginning in 1956 and has missed only 4 contests during that time. During that time it has won 4 competitions, but the last one was in 1975. In recent years The Netherlands has done fairly poorly; reaching the finals only once since 2005. This year they're hoping the Common Linnets will improve their luck and get them back into the spotlight. The Common Linnets are a duo who have been working in their own worlds for quite a few years. Ilse DeLange has released 7 albums while Willhem Bijkerk participated in Holland's Got Talent in 2008 and released an album back in 2009.

The Common Linnets are singing a song called 'Calm after the Storm' which is known as one of the few country songs to make an appearance in Eurovision. As country songs don't normally appear it's hard to tell how the audience will react to the song. The duo both have amazing voices  so it's destined to at least be sang well. The duo even went to Nashville, Tennessee for the song. We'll have to wait and see how the European audiences will enjoy the song. Even if it makes it into the finals, I don't expect it to be in the top 10.
