World Freedom Report Released

Freedomhouse just released a report that shows the freedom of certain countries throughout the world. Armenia and the U.S. both included.

The report has been going on since before 1990, and so the trend's speak for themselves. This past year was the worst year for global freedom in the past 20 years, but still better than most of the previous years. So how do the U.S. and Armenia rate? Let's see:

United States:
Classified as Free with a rating of 1 out of 7 on both political rights and civil liberties. (1 being the best)

Armenia:
Classified as Partly Free with a rating of 6 our of 7 on political rights (gaining a point from last year) and a 4 out of 7 on civil liberties. (7 being the worst)

Luckily, Armenia is not the worst in freedom. 22% of the 193 countries out there are classified as not free, most coming from Africa, Middle East, and Asia Major areas. But even though Armenia is not the worst, it needs to do better and hopefully one day it will be equal in freedom as in Europe where all countries, but one partly free country is considered to be free.
